This night of the celebration of the Dark Moon the indigo sky was clear of any Cloud People. Shooting Star was excited as she and her sister Snowy Owl climbed the path to the Star Temple. She could already see the Starry Ones sparkling in the darkened sky. Grandfather Sun was still setting early in the day for Winter Solstice had occurred just three sunsets ago. It would take many Moon cycles before his light was longer than the dark. But that was why Shooting Star climbed the path with anticipation. She knew the Starry Ones would have special messages to share at this New Moon.

When the sisters entered the Sacred Space they saw a young woman with long black hair wearing a flowing blue gown. Beside her was a Centaur, half human and half horse. They were surprised and a little frightened as they did not know who these two were. "Do not be fearful" the young woman said "I am Thea, watcher of the Stars, and this is my father Chiron, the healer. We live in the time between yours and the far away time. Like you Shooting Star, I deliver messages from the Starry Ones, and like you Snowy Owl my father is a keeper of the truth." The sisters relaxed when they heard this and their apprehension disappeared. Thea continued "we are here to take you on a journey."

As she said this her father shape-shifted into a Unicorn and Thea became the Winged Horse, Pegasus. She motioned to Snowy Owl to climb onto the Unicorn's back and for Shooting Star to do the same on Pegasus. The sisters did as they were asked and found themselves flying to the Starry Ones with great speed.

They passed through the Milky Way with its river of thousands of stars and Shooting Star recognized the Archer and the Serpent Healer. Thea said "In the faraway time these two Sky Stories will still be here reminding the two leggeds that when they heal themselves the Earth Mother will heal as well and come back into balance but in a new way." As the sisters were taken further into the cosmos Thea pointed to four Starry Ones that formed a square and around it the shape of a winged horse. "When I no longer walk the earth plane" she said "that will be my Starry home. It is a symbol for joy of movement and freedom as you search for the truth and eventually that truth will create stability and right action. Whenever you look up in the night sky and see my home you will be reminded that you are Keepers of the Truth and the Wisdom of the Starry Ones. We need you to remember for you will be teachers for others so the two leggeds will awaken before it is too late." With that said Pegasus and the Unicorn turned around and flew the sisters back to Earth.

As they landed back in the Star Temple they could see the beauty of the Earth Mother as Grandfather Sun cast his first few golden rays upon her. Snowy Owl and Shooting Star knew they had been initiated into Keepers of the Earth Mother and they felt honoured to play that role, now and in the far away time. They would never forget this journey.

I am never sure where these stories come from but I always trust that Creator and Great Mystery have their reasons for telling them. The planetary body Chiron was sighted in November 1977. Although he has been reclassified many times by the scientist astronomers (asteroid, comet, space rock) they were the ones who named him. When a new cosmic body is sighted the human kingdom is ready to awaken to its spiritual energy. In Greek mythology Chiron was a Centaur. They were a warlike species always seeking conflict and victory. But Chiron was different. He was a healer and teacher. It is said when the student is ready to step onto their Spiritual Soul Purpose path, Chiron is there to guide them.

In her book Chiron: Rainbow Bridge Between the Inner & Outer Planets astrologer Barbara Hand Clow links Chiron to the Unicorn. I also resonate with that connection. The Thea of our story was Chiron's daughter. She was an astrologer and seer. When she passed into spirit she was taken into the cosmic ocean and became the Constellation Pegasus, the Winged Horse. At this time of year in the northern hemisphere the Constellation with its prominent square can be seen high overhead. The stars that make up the square are Alpheratz, the love of movement and freedom, Scheat, independently searching for the truth and breaking away from dogma, Algenib, right action, and Markab, stability and reliability. To me that is what 2012 is about so Pegasus being part of our story now makes sense. Along with Chiron, the Winged Horse is a symbol for healing and the freedom that brings.

This feels like a very mystical New Moon. It of course occurs on Christmas Eve day, a holy holiday in the Christian tradition. But even more than that it feels special. Chiron (the wounded healer) is conjunct Vesta (the spiritual path and at-oneness-within the self) at 01 degree Pisces (the mystical and Oneness of All). They are in sextile (easy harmony) with the Sun (focus) and Moon (intuition) at 02 degrees Capricorn (society and Soul Purpose). Chiron and Vesta also sextile Jupiter (expansion and manifestation of your vision) at 00 degrees Taurus (personal empowerment). Jupiter is trine (ease and flow) the Capricorn New Moon. So the opportunity for deep healing, personally and universally, is the vibration of this Lunation. Although Uranus (breakthrough) at 00 degrees Aries (personal freedom) is square (challenge) this New Moon it actually is positive and gives us all the power to break free of old patterns and behaviours that no longer serve our Soul Path.

The ruler of this Capricorn New Moon is Saturn (society and responsibility) at 27 degrees Libra (committed partnerships). Saturn prefers to keep the status quo and be in control. He is sextile the Sun/Moon but opposite Jupiter and inconjunct (tension and confusion) Uranus. So partners may want to hold you back if they think you will expand beyond their reach by breaking free. Fortunately the planet of Karma is trine (ease and flow) Neptune (illusion or enlightenment) in Aquarius (the collective consciousness) which is conjunct Chiron (healing) and Vesta (at-one-ness within). So the planetary dance does carry a vibration of healing and break through.

Capricorn is found on the Tarot Constellation of The Lovers; the principle of relationship and choice. Its theme is the urge to unite or separate, the choice to love or fear, ourselves in relationship to each other, and ourselves in relation to the world. Saturn has been in Libra since Oct 2009 and will continue his journey through the sign of partnership until Oct 2012. Since he is the ruler of this New Moon the theme above is emphasised.

The Rays that this Capricorn New Moon activates are the 7th Ray of Ceremonial Order and White Magic, with Archangels Zadkiel, Invocation and ascension into higher consciousness, and Amethyst, transformation and freedom. They both carry the vibration of the Violet Flame of Transmutation. The next is the 3rd Ray of Divine Mind and Active Intelligence with Archangels Chamuel, healing through Divine Love, and Grace, gratitude and generosity. Finally the 1st Ray of Divine Will and Power is activated with this Lunation with Archangels Michael, protection and spiritual destiny guide, and Faith, love and trust in self.

This is the first New Moon of the North Direction on The Medicine Wheel, the place of stillness, sharing knowledge, and being a Wisdom Keeper. It is the Earth Renewal Moon Time when new life begins to stir again in the northern hemisphere after the long sleep. If we live north of 35 degrees latitude it is difficult to embrace the idea of rebirth for it is still winter time usually with snow until spring. But if you close your physical eyes and see with your inner eye you will feel the new energy being born.

The Animal Totem for this New Moon is Snow Goose who teaches us to soar and follow our dreams. When you let go of control Snow Goose will show you the next step. The Unicorn is the sacred animal for Capricorn. This ancient symbol for the mystical realm will only show itself to those who are pure in heart. The skeptics will tell you the Unicorn could never exist but I am sure many of you have met one on your journey to enlightenment. Snowy Owl and Shooting Star did in our story and it was the healer Chiron.

The Clan Mother who guides us at this New Moon is Talks With Relations. She is the guardian of learning the truth and honouring the kinship with all life. She is the keeper of right relationship with Creator and Great Mystery, the self, and our spiritual essence. On Dec 25 at 5.08pm Jupiter in Taurus moves direct. He has been retrograde since August 30, 2011. On this special day of Christmas in the Christian tradition the planet of luck and blessings is shining down on the world. Christmas is a time for giving with love. Jupiter is about growth, expansion, and manifestation of your vision. As he moves forward today anything is possible. All you have to do is believe and be the best you can be. Be love.

Moon conjoins Venus in Aquarius- Dec 27- 2.33am EST- I do not usually include the Moon activations but this was such a beautiful sight with Venus shinning so brightly beside the sliver of the still New Moon on the western horizon. It was a powerful symbol for the strength and courage you feel when you follow your inner knowing and give your gift to the Universe. You could also see the full dark circle of the Moon through an effect called Moonshine indicating the depth and power of your Soul. If the skies are clear in your area tonight watch for Venus to the right of the Moon. It will fill you with awe at how beautiful the Universe is.

Aquarius Crescent Moon- Dec 28- 2.24am EST to Jan 01, 2012- 1.16am EST- This is the growth, expansion, and manifestation of your vision phase. Venus, creative expression and Love, is still travelling with Sister Moon. The Animal Totem who guides them and you is Otter, playfulness, curiosity, sharing, and joy. Are you following your dreams? If not this is the phase to embrace your spiritual path and live it with joyfulness and love.

Sun conjoins Pluto in Capricorn- Dec 29- 2.43am EST- This could be a dramatic activator in the world. The Sun is a symbol for those in authority, Pluto for dictatorships, and Capricorn for society. Pluto also rules death. Watch for possible world changing events. On a personal level work with this aspect to become empowered in your world and choose to transform what no longer works in your life. If it cannot be transformed it is time to let it go.

Moon conjoins Uranus in Aries- Dec 31- 6.28am EST- Moon in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn- 7.25pm EST- These are powerful aspects on the last day of 2011 that is why I am including them. If you are emotionally out of balance look out for Uranus is rebellious and Pluto is volcanic. Make sure you are connected to your Sacred Center and you will be creating your spiritual vision for what you want to experience in 2012. Tonight we are at the doorway of the year of The Hierophant, the Wise Teacher. Remember we are all Wisdom Keepers.

Mercury in Sagittarius square Mars in Virgo- Jan 01, 2012- 1.06am EST- Interesting that the new year begins with the planet of the mind challenging the planet of action. A square asks us to find new ways of doing things. Use this energy to be the spiritual warrior in your life and make this powerful year of the Wisdom Teacher the year you make the personal changes that allow you to become your true self. Mercury clears his retrograde shadow today so the Power of Intention is supporting you.

Aries First Quarter Moon- Jan 01- 1.16am EST to Jan 05- 4.39am EST- The theme for this phase is make a decision, take action, and breakthrough or break free. The Moon in Aries supports you to activate new beginnings. Be clear about what you want to create and inspiration will guide you.

Taurus Gibbous Moon- Jan 05- 4.39am EST to Jan 09- 2.30am EST- This is the analyze, adjust, evaluate, and redefine phase. Because the Moon is at 29 degrees of Taurus this is also a completion energy. Realign your spiritual vision and release what no longer serves you. The Gibbous Moon asks you to align your mind and body with your spirit and Soul Essence.

Venus in Aquarius inconjunct Mars in Virgo- Jan 07- 12.27am EST- An inconjunct is a confusing aspect which makes it difficult to see anything clearly. You may want to break free from a challenging relationship at this point but my advice is wait until Feb 01. You will have a better understanding about what the right choice is. Mercury in Sagittarius sextile Saturn in Libra- 3.13am EST- Mercury in Sagittarius sextile Neptune in Aquarius- 10.15am EST- These two aspects are asking you to let relationship evolve as it will and instead focus on your spiritual journey and truth.

Mercury enters Capricorn- Jan 08- 1.34am EST- Mercury in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Taurus- 1.05pm EST- Mercury in Capricorn Square Uranus in Aries- 6.23pm EST- I consider Capricorn's spiritual vibration to indicate our Soul Purpose journey. Sun in Capricorn trine Mars in Virgo- 11.46pm EST- This is an opportunity to experience healing and harmony with the Yang energy in your life (those who are assertive in actions). Work with this aspect to heal and release resentment. It serves no purpose except to keep you stuck in old patterns.

Venus in Aquarius trine Saturn in Libra- Jan 13- 4.05am EST- Saturn has been very quiet lately not really participating in the planetary dance. Use this aspect to accept personal responsibility for the dynamics in your important relationships. Many relationships have been falling apart since last November. Aquarius asks us to let go with love. Mercury conjoins Pluto in Capricorn- 8.03am EST- This meeting gives you the power to transform your thoughts and perceptions so what you really want to create has room to manifest. Venus enters Pisces- Jan 14- 12.47am EST- The planet of self worth and love will be in the sign of the Oneness Of All until Feb 08. She is exalted in Pisces so the theme of illusion or illumination that was activated yesterday continues until then. Neptune rules this Venus journey and he enters his own sign of Pisces on Feb 03. The questions to ask are; what is true? What is not true? What can never be true? Venus in Pisces sextile Jupiter in Taurus- 9.47pm EST- If you are grounded in your Sacred Center this is a very beneficial aspect. The energy is expansion, growth, and manifestation of your vision. Abundance and prosperity are yours if you open to receive. Venus is the natural ruler of Taurus and asks you to believe in yourself.

Libra Fourth Quarter Moon- Jan 16- 4.09am EST to Jan 19- 2.32pm EST- This is the re-adjust and realignment phase. Since the Moon is in Libra, Crow, justice and balance, and Raven, the mysteries, are here to guide you. It is time to re-vision your relationships, first to self and then to others. Venus conjoins Chiron in Pisces- 6.12am EST- This is a wonderful aspect that promises spiritual illumination as you continue on your healing journey. There may even be some shifting in the collective unconscious with this meeting of the planet of love and the Wounded Healer in the sign of the Oneness Of All. Sagittarius Balsamic Moon- Jan 19- 2.32pm EST to Jan 23- 2.40am EST- Usually the Balsamic phase completes the lessons from the New Moon of the same sign. But the Sagittarius New Moon of Nov 25, 2011 was a Solar Eclipse and continues the theme of confusion. Focus on releasing what no longer nourishes your spirit and recommit to your Soul Purpose path. Sun in Capricorn square Saturn in Libra- 4.19pm EST- This aspect may activate feelings of limitation and restriction in relationship. Just know if you feel liberated within it does not matter what is happening "out there". You have the power to change how you feel but you cannot change how the other feels. Sun enters Aquarius- Jan 20- 11.10am EST- We now enter the Rest and Cleansing Time with Otter, companionship and sharing, as our guide until Feb18/19 depending on your time zone. In the northern hemisphere we are deeply into winter so rest is something that we long for. Use this Sun cycle to strengthen friendships and enjoy the companionship of those people of like minds. Venus in Pisces sextile Pluto in Capricorn- 3.32pm EST- This is an aspect of ease that promises transformation of whatever issues you are dealing with in an effortless way. Again if you are in resistance you will miss the opportunity. Be receptive and true change will happen.

Sun in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries- Jan 21- 8.20pm EST- This will be an interesting activation as Uranus, breakthrough, is the ruler of Aquarius, the collective consciousness. Uranus in Aries is offering all of us the opportunity to free our true selves and become
way- showers for others. Let us hope this means freedom for those in the world who are fighting limitations and restrictions within their societies.

Sun in Aquarius square Jupiter in Taurus- Jan 22- 1.35am EST- This square could set up some financial challenges in the world economy later today. Stay connected to your spiritual center and you will vibrate at a higher frequency. Remember you create your own reality.

Aquarius New Moon 02 Aquarius 42 - Jan 23- 2.40am EST- This is the Rest and Cleansing Moon with Otter, playfulness, sharing, and companionship, as our guide. The Clan Mother is Wisdom Keeper who teaches to honour the truth in all things. She is guardian of all sacred traditions and sacred points of view. As Uranus is the ruler for this New Moon unpredictability may be the theme for this cycle. As you make your wishes and affirmations let your inner knowing guide you. This is also the Chinese New Year of the Water Dragon- Dragons are viewed as fiery and all powerful as they were symbols for the emperor. Because this is the year of the Water Dragon the impetuous fire may be somewhat subdued. The Dragon year promises good fortune, charismatic attraction, personal power, and being guided by your inner knowing. It is a year of luck and blessings that you create through your own spiritual truth. Remember Dragons can fly and so can you when you believe in yourself.

Mercury in Capricorn trine Mars in Virgo- Jan 23- 6.15am EST- Use this early morning aspect to identify what it is that you want to focus on healing as the planet of action is about to go on his rare backwards journey. As a healer teacher you can only help others transform if you have gone through your own transformation regarding a particular issue. Work with the gift the planet of life force is about to bring into your experience. Mars turns retrograde at 23 degrees Virgo- 7.54pm EST- Mars the planet of action entered his retrograde shadow on Nov 17, 2011. You now have the opportunity to re-evaluate, readjust, redefine, and eventually re-vision where you want to put your focus and creation energy. It is a bit of a long process as Mars will be retrograde until Apr 13, 2012 and finally clears his retrograde shadow June 19, 2012. Patience is required something Mars is not good at but fortunately Virgo is. We will write more about the Mars retrograde journey in the coming weeks.
